Youth Volunteering Opportunities-- Current and
Ongoing |
The Orinda Volunteer Center, offers a variety of
one-day and on-going opportunities for student credit
and the experience of pure joy by helping others.
- Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center:
Volunteers help disabled children with horseback
riding activity as leader or side walker. Training
provided. Must be 14yrs old and up. For more

- CAL Shakes Theater Ushers: Seeking
volunteer ushers for 2008 season. For more information

- CAL Shakes Theater: Event Support: Cal Shakes holds several Marketing and Development
events each year. Volunteers needed with creative,

- Chabot Space & Science Center:
Celebrating it's 125th anniversary, is seeking
volunteers. Learn to operate historic telescopes or
interact with students and adults on the exhibit

- Become a member of the committee planning the
25th Anniversary of Orinda's July 4th parade 2008.
We meet the 2nd Thursday of the month, from 7pm-9pm.
You and several other volunteers will chair a
committee for this year's week-long celebration. For

- Orinda Library: volunteers needed to help
shelve library materials. Minimum 6 month commitment
please. Training is provided. 1-2 hours
per week, flexible days and times including
weekends. Must be 15 years or older.

- Orinda Police Department seeking youth
interested in law enforcement careers to become
volunteer cadets. 16-21 year olds are welcome to
apply. You will wear uniforms and badges, you are
trained in CPR and first aid, you will ride with
officers, learn crime-scene processing, report
writing, basic laws of arrest, visit the jail and
help at crime scenes with crowd and traffic control.

3pm-5pm Mon, Wed, or Fri. and Saturdays, sorting and organizing
historical donations, data entry, file organization,
log in of maps, catalogues, multimedia. Contact
